Distorted point spread function and image reconstruction for ghost imaging

Abstract

We clarify that ghost imaging with low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) originates from distorted point spread function for intensity fluctuation correlation reconstruction algorithm. An image reconstruction method has been proposed to improve the quality of ghost imaging based on the distorted point spread function and the result of intensity fluctuation correlation reconstruction algorithm. In comparison with common ghost imaging via sparsity constraint, both the simulated and experimental results demonstrate that the image's SNR can be significantly enhanced by the proposed method especially when the sampling ratio is larger than 0.67 and the detection SNR is greater than 22 dB.
