• First comprehensive investigation of 15 PAEs in tropical lagoon sediments • ΣPAEs showed inner-lagoon enrichment and outlet dilution patterns. • PCA suggested distinct potential aquaculture and terrestrial sources. • HQ screening indicated high potential DBP risks to algae and moderate DiBP risks to fish. • A source–transport–fate–risk framework elucidated tropical lagoon PAE pathways.
