Abstract

• Driver behavior was significantly affected by preceding intersection type, movement tested, intersection pair, and trial number. • Driver behavior was not significantly influenced by gender, age, or background corridor treatment. • Median U-Turn side-street left turns showed the highest failure risk and lowest approach speeds. • Hard-braking events occurred most often at Quadrant Roadway, Median U-Turn, and Reduced Conflict intersections.
