• Instability of solid-liquid two-phase pipes with axial-spinning coupling motion was revealed. • Solid mass ratio and slip factor reduce the stability threshold via inertia coupling. • Axial motion amplifies low-order modes and alters wave propagation and whirling direction. • A unified dynamics model of fluid-conveying pipes with multi-parameter coupling was proposed.
