Abstract
En 中文
• A novel ecological risk index integrating metal and toxicity data was proposed. • The index allows sediment samples to be classified into four risk levels. • Data from a tropical estuary impacted by domestic waste were used to test the index. • Potential hazards were found in river mouths and the canal connecting the lagoons. • The risk level was generally moderate, with Zn and Cu as the main contributors.
