• Effects of RRA on Sc-modified AA7050 alloy were systematically investigated. • ScZr addition produced a refined equiaxed grain structure. • η' precipitates coarsened from ∼5 nm (T6) to ∼15 nm after RRA. • RRA retained ∼590 MPa yield strength and increased conductivity to 36% IACS. • Modified grain boundary precipitation after RRA may favour SCC resistance.
