• Modified TPEE foam exhibits an unprecedented expansion ratio of 35 (15 MPa). • Crystallinity reduction improved foam gas permeability and dimensional stability. • Micro-crosslinked network gives TPEE foam outstanding self-recovery performance. • KWW model elucidates relationship between chain relaxation and TPEE foam shrinkage.
