Efficient Image Approximation to Multi-Layered Green Function and Its Application in Integral Equation Method

Abstract

An image approximation method for real-space Green function in multi-layered media is proposed. With the aid of transition state matrix, we express the spectral Green function into a delicate form. This formulation is friendly to exponentials-sum approximation. Consequently, by applying the matrix-pencil method, an image approximation is derived. The novelty of proposed image approximation for multi-layered Green function lies in the fact that the matrix filling task in a Galerkin integral equation method can be efficiently performed via the latest formulations on the triangle-pair integrals associated with 1/r-integrating kernel.
