• The Se-doped Sb2S3 indoor photovoltaics by hydrothermal method. • Achieving the balance between light harvesting and carrier transport performance. • The indoor and outdoor PCE of Se-doped Sb2S3 solar cells is 18.62% and 7.58%. • The indoor and outdoor PCE of Sb2S3 solar cells is 15.46% and 6.37%.
