• A modified phase-field model that can effectively solves the multi-component problem on irregular region. • An efficient dimensional splitting scheme is developed for solving flow-coupled multi-component phase-field models. • An improved post-processing method is presented to improve computational stability. • Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the behavior of multi-phase flows in complex geometries.
