Efficient recovery of high-purity 2D flaky R-FePO4 from lithium extraction slag leachate via solvent extraction and chemical precipitation

• By combining recovery of LES with solvent extraction, co-extraction and co-stripping of Fe and P were achieved. • The mechanism underlying the co-extraction of Fe and P was systematically revealed. • The stripping solution exhibits extremely low impurity content, enabling the direct preparation of R-FePO4. • High-purity 2D flaky R-FePO4, synthesized from the stripping solution, is suitable for high-performance LFPs. • A novel and feasible LES recovery process was proposed, featuring high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and low cost.
