Abstract

Abstract

Consumer access networks are low bandwidth, especially in the up-stream direction. This asymmetry is heightened for real-time multimedia applications. The web wait is not acceptable when in a conversational interface. We describe the use of KPM, a protocol for transporting user stimulus. We illustrate the application of KPML to a typical consumer activity, accessing information sources over the telephone. We include results measuring KPML against other protocols for transporting user stimulus.
