• An electric polarization saturation model for penny-shaped crack problems in one-dimensional piezoelectric quasicrystals is established. • Boundary integral equations governing the electric polarization saturation model are presented. • Analytical solutions of extended stress intensity factors and electric yielding zone for uniform loadings are derived. • A hybrid scheme is adopted by combining EDD boundary element method with a numerical iterative method.
