Electrochemical methods are the basis for the determination of performance parameters of batteries as well as for a deeper understanding of the electrochemical, structural and physical processes in the cells. Advantageous, these methods can be used as operando diagnostic tools. Numerous electrochemical methods are available for this purpose. This chapter introduces the five most prominent of them, including the measurement set-ups and their main area of application.
