Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Novel TiO2–Bi2O3–ZnO nanocomposites were prepared by solid state reaction. • FTIR spectra revealed vibrations of Bi–O, Ti–O, and Zn–O bonds in [BiO3,6], [TiO4,6] and [ZnO4] units respectively. • Absorption edges of mass attenuation coefficient are correlated with energy dispersion spectra of constituent elements. • Fast neutron removal cross section (ΣR) of the nanocomposites found to be around 0.1118-0.1278 cm−1, which is on par with commercial materials. • These nanocomposites find potential applications in medical diagnostics, radiology, nuclear power generation, etc.
