• Rapid Joule heating synthesizes MnFeCoNiCu/C catalysts. • Joule-heated AC-900 J has 23.31 nm metal crystallites, 1050 m2/g surface area. • AC-900 J achieves 65.09% bio-jet fuel selectivity vs 57.50% of AC-900. • The catalyst has >96% hydrocarbon selectivity across feedstocks.
