• Three tubercle configurations are compared against a prototype draft tube. • Tubercles suppress the formation and development of the vortex within draft tube. • Tubercles with 10°is most effective in suppressing pressure pulsations. • The amplitude induced by rotor-stator interaction is consistently suppressed by up to 62.24%. • Within the draft tube 0.3D, the amplitude of 0.22 fn decreases by 88.81%.
