• Restored CRP wetlands were midday growing season sources of methane. • Methane fluxes were modestly positively associated with restoration age. • Floating vegetation had the highest predicted methane emissions. • Water depth amplified methane fluxes in tall emergent vegetation. • Surface water methane concentrations were positively associated with fluxes.
