The escalating penetration of renewable energy generation has led to the proliferation of microgrids (MGs) in the energy market. The idea of multiple MG clusters has gained traction recently due to the economic benefits of sharing power between constituent MGs. Cooperative power-sharing (CPS) among multiple MG clusters has emerged as a promising solution for facilitating a more effective balancing of supply and demand within the local community. This paper proposes an Ethereum blockchain-enabled CPS framework for the multiple MG clusters. Using distributed ledger technology, we propose a CPS framework for the multiple MG clusters to collaborate between flexible power-sharing requirements. A cooperative framework will be formed to cope with power sharing between MG clusters and the main grid. The smart contracts also included bidding strategies to coordinate power transactions among multiple MG clusters, where individual MG clusters can support each other by sharing power. Blockchain technology can improve transaction security and privacy while ensuring desirable social governance. A case study of eight multiple MG clusters with realistic data is provided to validate the effectiveness of the CPS framework.
