• Eugenol-loaded ZIF-8 was incorporated into biodegradable PLA nanofibrous membranes. • PLA/EUG@ZIF-8 achieved 99.62% PM₀.₃ removal at a pressure drop of 69 Pa. • GeoDict simulations linked the improved filtration to a refined fibrous network. • The membrane inhibited E. coli and S. aureus by 99.74% and 99.48%, respectively.
