• Even under RCP4.5, extreme sea-level events pose severe threats to HK ecosystems. • Under RCP8.5, HK's ecosystem service value may drop by $186.95 M yearly by 2100. • Mangroves should receive top-priority protection based on their value. • Protection zones should be planned in batches based on urgency. • The protection of valuable trees must not be overlooked.
