This study examines the most critical competencies in the hiring process, assesses essential selection criteria, and investigates effective recruitment strategies. In the current competitive market, organizations strive to establish strong brand identities, maintain sustainable competitive advantages, and achieve substantial market share. Regardless of their experience level, candidates must have the necessary skills for evaluation. This research examines the hiring practices of an IT company to identify the most effective approaches for selecting top candidates. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to evaluate candidates according to their competencies and the attributes valued by recruiters, supporting data-driven decision-making. The AHP process explore candidates with lower salary expectations and limited experience were preferred over those with greater experience but higher salary demands. While it underscores essential competencies in hiring, it also emphasizes the need to identify emerging critical competencies as industries continue to evolve. As each individual brings a distinct set of skills and every organization employs its own selection methods; it is essential to align candidate competencies with the company. This research can be further expanded to address the specific needs of various industries and job roles.
