This paper presents Excel-HSL, an Excel-based solver that allows users to apply the Harmony Search (HS) algorithm without writing code. By combining an intuitive text-based modeling syntax with Excel's built-in Evaluate function, Excel-HSL streamlines the formulation and execution of optimization problems. Benchmark tests on four engineering design problems demonstrate that Excel-HSL achieves accuracy comparable to Python implementations of GA, PSO, and HS. The software lowers the programming barrier and overcomes the usability limitations of Excel's traditional Solver, providing an accessible optimization platform for students, researchers, and engineers.
