Abstract

Thermal management system is essential for lithium ion batteries in vehicles to control operating tem-perature and temperature differences. Paraffin is commonly used in the study of battery thermal manage-ment system (BTMS). However with low thermal conductivity, pure paraffin is not sufficient for transferring the heat generated from battery. To sort out the existing problem, the E-graphite is used with paraffin at different proportions ranging at 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, 15% and the thermal characteristics of these composites are tested and recorded. This work comprises of the analysis of addition of this e-Graphite with the paraffin in order to increase the thermal conductivity of the paraffin and to test the same to make up a revolutionary replacement in battery thermal management system.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
