Abstract
En 中文
• Ice crystal impact dynamics on a rigid surface were experimentally investigated. • Impact behavior exhibits three regimes: rebound, minor and major fragmentation. • The critical fragmentation velocity scales with the -1/2 power of crystal diameter. • The tangential velocity induces rotation and alters fragment dispersion above 45°. • New critical velocity model improves accuracy for impact angle from 0° to 75°.
