• The triaxial compressive behaviors of SFRCC under coupled influence of high steel fiber content (0–10%) and high confining pressure (0–50 MPa) were clarified. • Prediction models for the triaxial performance indices of SFRCC were established. • The mechanisms governing triaxial compressive behavior of SFRCC were revealed. • Failure criteria applicable to SFRCC with high steel fiber content were proposed.
