• Full-process experimental validation of the 50 kW LNG-AP-LAES system. • Expanded air regeneration reduces AP regeneration energy by 65.0%. • Coordinated air split control mitigates LNG variations from −145 to −135 °C. • The system achieves 66.4% round-trip and 57.1% exergy efficiencies.
