• Melting experiments on the Fe-FeH system were performed to 130 GPa and 4200 K. • A thermodynamic model was developed based on the present and earlier experiments. • It predicts the Fe-FeH phase diagram at 330 GPa of inner core boundary pressure. • Possible ranges of the Earth’s core composition and temperature were estimated. • Hydrogen and silicon are important light elements for the outer and inner cores.
