• Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM) is employed to investigate the influence of various forms of support. • Government and school support strongly shape adolescents’ intentions to use active travel modes. • Females, those living with parents, lower BMI, and no motorcycle ownership are more likely to intend active travel modes.
