• First preparation of ER-type FWA nanosuspensions via antisolvent precipitation. • Process parameters were optimized based on crystal growth theory. • Resulting suspensions exhibited excellent dispersibility as well as stability. • Prepared liquid FWAs exhibited good whitening performance on polyester fabrics.
