• 4-Vinylbenzyl piperidine was anionically copolymerized with β-myrcene to afford well-defined copolymers with controllable molecular weight (Mn) and narrow dispersity (Đ) above room temperature. • The copolymerization results are interpreted using the LAP chain-end active center coordination mechanism and the N-Li coordination synergy mechanism within the polymer chain. • This paper is of great significance for advancing the LAP sequence control theory and the synthesis of functional biomass-based rubber products.
