• A novel "doping-like" combined arrangement is proposed to flexibly tune resonant frequency bands of MMA. • Fabrication and mechanism of hierarchical Fs_LIG metastructures for in-plane impedance matching are revealed. • The flexible subwavelength absorber (~1.8 mm) achieves ultrabroadband (12.4–35 GHz) average absorption >96.1%. • The proposed Fs_LIG MMA exhibits efficient absorption stability under oblique incidence.
