Abstract

• A membrane-targeted fluorescent probe enables direct visualization of inhibitor adsorption. • SDP selectively adsorbs on the anodic α-Mg phase and forms a compact adsorption film. • The optimal inhibition efficiency of 95.9% was achieved at 0.5mM SDP. • A micro-scale method for investigating corrosion-suppression mechanisms was proposed.
