• FNDC1 is highly expressed in breast cancer tissues and correlates with lymph node metastasis. • FNDC1-containing exosomes drive macrophage polarization toward the M2 phenotype. • FNDC1-induced M2 macrophages enhance breast cancer cell migration and invasion.
