We introduce r-fuzzy beta-open (closed) sets in Sostak's fuzzy topological spaces. We investigate some properties of them. Moreover, we introduce and study fuzzy beta-irresolute function, fuzzy beta-irresolute open (closed) function and fuzzy strongly semi beta-irresolute function in ostak's fuzzy topological spaces. Some of their characteristic properties are considered. Also, we investigate the relationships between these classes of functions. (C) 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
