Abstract

• Identified TXNIP rs7211 and rs7212 as novel genetic risk loci for diabetic peripheral neuropathy in Chinese T2DM patients. • Demonstrated that AA genotype at rs7211 and CC genotype at rs7212 independently increase DPN risk. • Applied Holm-Bonferroni correction to enhance statistical power, outperforming traditional Bonferroni in SNP association analysis. • Provided first evidence linking TXNIP 3′UTR polymorphisms to DPN susceptibility, supporting oxidative stress-inflammation pathway involvement.
