• We discovered novel basal lineages of the endosymbionts in plant-parasitic nematodes and further characterized the Rickettsiella spp. through comparative genomic analysis, which revealed a highly reduced genome. These findings expend our understanding on endosymbionts host range, providing new insights into the symbiotic relationships between nematodes and bacteria.
