• Green-synthesized bacteriocin-capped Ag-Au nanoclusters on cotton fabric. • Characterization by UV–Vis, SEM, TEM, DLS, FTIR, XPS confirms uniform NCs. • Coated fabric shows enhanced water retention, pH-triggered release, and stability. • Potent antibacterial and anti-biofilm effects vs S. aureus & C. albicans. • Biocompatible dressing accelerates wound healing in vivo, with no toxicity.
