• Effect of VS2 morphology by adding rGO nanosheets using hydrothermal synthesis. • Turn on field of VS2 is 3.0 at 1μA/cm2 and Max. current density is ∼ 300 at 6 V/μm. • By adding rGO (1mg) turn on field decreases to 2.41 at 1μA/cm2 and current density increases to ∼ 900 at 5.04 V/μm. • By adding rGO (2 mg) turn on field again decreases to 2.3 at 1μA/cm2 and current density increases by ∼ 1800 at 4.6 V/μm.
