• C60 aggregates show unconventional, broad, long-lived UV/blue emission in solution • Blue emission of ∼10 ns occurs at ≥ 2 μM concentration threshold in ethyl acetate • C60 nanoaggregates (∼2 nm) are responsible for unconventional blue fluorescence • Blue/red ratio depends on excitation wavelength, solvent polarity and additive (O2) • MD and DFT justify new aggregation-induced excitonic states that emit blue light
