Background: Vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage systems (ESSs); however, the practical application of commercial graphite felt (GF) electrodes is hindered by their intrinsic hydrophobic surface, limited specific surface area, and insufficient electrocatalytic activity. Therefore, developing a scalable and efficient modification strategy to enhance electrode kinetics and catalytic performance is highly desirable.
