• Hierarchical MXene@Ni3S4/Co3S4 heterostructures were developed. • Dual-interfacial coupling enables multilevel electronic modulation. • Interfacial charge redistribution enhances HER and OER activities. • The catalyst operated stably at 1 A cm−2 for 200 h in AEMWE.
