• Changes in the O- and N-glycome of gilthead seabream gill mucus upon Sparicotyle chrysophrii infection were studied. • S. chrysophrii infection induced an increase in abundance of high mannose N-glycans. • Glycan changes were correlated with the expression levels of the mannosyltransferase alg11. • Correlations were also found with microbiota changes, acidophilic granulocytes and goblet cell abundance.
