• Superphane cages construct precision-engineered sub-nm channels in membranes • It enables Grotthuss-driven rapid proton conduction and size-exclusion selectivity • Water migration is suppressed by confined supramolecular interactions • A record-low capacity decay (0.008% per cycle) is achieved in acidic flow batteries
