• The proposed method (D-RDI) is able to works for a wide range of object types, including both diffusive and non-diffusive objects. • The system simultaneously captures diffraction patterns at two propagation planes in a single exposure, enabling robust phase retrieval with spatial-frequency complementarity and faster convergence. • D-RDI eliminates the need for interferometry or reference beams, offering vibration resistance and adaptability to dynamic environments.
