• 2D single-layer graphene oxide (GO) were adding to PTFE to improve its creep resistance. • The abundant oxygen-containing functional groups (e.g., hydroxyl, carboxyl) on the GO surface facilitate strong interfacial hydrogen-bonding with the PTFE matrix. • Molecular dynamics simulations demonstrate that strong intermolecular interactions improve structural integrity.
