Let V be a hypersurface in P4 with ordinary double and triple points as the only singularities, and let & micro;2 and & micro;3 be the number of ordinary double points (triple points, respectively) of V. Then we prove that if & micro;2 + 11 & micro;3 >= 11d4-50d3+85d2-70d+48 , then the defect of V 24 is positive.
