Induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte therapy represents an important milestone in cardiac regenerative therapy for ischemic heart failure. Early human experience with epicardial cell-sheet implantation demonstrated procedural feasibility and short-term safety, with signs of improved left ventricular contractility and myocardial perfusion. Although clinical experience remains limited, these findings suggest that cardiomyocyte-based regenerative therapy may eventually complement established therapies for advanced heart failure.
