Abstract

• A dual- functional fluidized system achieves integrated impurity removal and particle-air separation. • CFD-DEM and PIV reveal airflow bifurcation and vortex-induced particle transport mechanisms. • Mixed particles split into two vortex paths: descending to accumulate energy or ascending due to lift. • Curved baffle design enables 98% separation efficiency in particle–air industrial systems. • Image experiment captures a 10% loss of clean particles, slightly above simulation without bonding model.
