• From 7 wt% of Mn0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4 can be influenced the magnetic properties. • SEM, TGA and DSC reveal uniform distribution of ferrites, no chemical interaction and no mechanical effects. • Whereas number of ferrites increase into PU matrix the saturation magnetization increase giving a magnetic performance. • S11 reflection coefficient from electromagnetic measurements suggests soft-magnetic EMI shielding behavior.
